This section of the website will support health, social care and housing professionals who have attended the Later Matters training or would like to review their services in relation to access and outcomes for BME older people using the Later Matters Progress Measure and Good Practice Guidance.

We have provided a training film to compliment the full Later Matters training course, a downloadable pdf version of the Later Matters Progress Measure and Good Practice Guidance and other resources to support the Later Matters review process.

LATER MATTERS TRAINING

Improving access to health and social care services for BME older people

This 1 day course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and resources to review how accessible your services are to BME older people and plan for future service development. You will receive copies of a service assessment tool, good practice guidance and an action planning template. By the end of the course, you will be trained to use these resources within your own organisation. The course also covers the specific barriers experienced by BME older people in accessing services and examples of good practice in service planning and delivery.

This course is targeted at health, social care and housing professionals from the public, third and private sector.

Cost: £350 based on an in-house session for a maximum of 12 participants. 

Multi agency courses will be available to meet demand.

This film provides an overview of the Later Matters review process using actors to simulate different aspects of the review. The film has been divided into four chapters; preparing for the review, conducting the review, action planning and post review. These chapters can be viewed separately.
