Age Concern Hellifield, which was launched on 9 October 1987, aims to provide high quality, direct services for the older people of the village and surrounding areas. It also intends to involve older people in the planning, management and delivery of services both as individuals and groups and to carry out research and identify with older people their needs and future service requirements.
It also aims to investigate the possibilities for innovation and new ways for delivering high quality service and to raise awareness of issues concerned with ageing and older people in the appropriate forums, as well as prooting a positive view of ageing and older people.
Working closely with other Age Concern Organisations and Groups, AC Hellifield aims to provide the best possible services for older people in North Craven and North Yorkshire. It also aims to work in co-operation with voluntary, statutory, independent and commercial partners to promote a positive attitude towards older people and the best possible services for them.
Finally, the object of the Charity is to provide voluntary services for the inhabitants of Hellifield and the neighbourhood in the interests of social welfare for the purpose of improving the quality of life for those inhabitants, particularly those suffering disadvantage.
