Volunteers
Do you want to become an Age UK volunteer and:

Age UKs in the Yorkshire & Humber region need dedicated volunteers like you to help deliver important services for older people.
There are lots of different ways you can get involved and there are volunteering activities to suit everyone - whatever your age, skill and background.
As well as helping older people, volunteering can give you a great personal reward.
Here is a list of just some of the volunteering opportunities you may be able to participate in:
- Befriender – provide support to older people living alone such as by having a chat and sharing a pot of tea.
- Bereavement and loss visitor – support someone who has experienced a loss or bereavement.
- Events Assistant – assist with the planning, co-ordination and delivery of special events the Age UK is running.
- Day centre helper – help run a day centre for older people by assisting with self-care tasks such as nail care or domestic tasks such as serving meals.
- Driver – provide essential door-to-door transport for older people who have difficulties using public or other forms of transport.
- Fundraiser – assist with the planning and running of fundraising events.
- Fit as a Fiddle Volunteer - help run physical activity or healthy eating classes for older people.
- Gardener – provide practical gardening assistance and support to older householders.
- Handyperson – provide basic household maintenance for older people living in their own homes.
- Information and advice worker – provide information and advice to older people and their carers, both by telephone and face-to-face.
- IT coach – provide one-to-one IT coaching to older people and introduce them to computer basics, the internet and e-mail.
- Trustee – help run your local Age Concern
